Dr. Thames is Professor of Professional Practice in Health Care Administration. He holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch, a Master of Health Care Administration from Trinity University, and a Master of Health Policy and Bioethics from Loyola Chicago. He speaks nationally on topics ranging from kidney and cardiovascular disease, to medical and clinical ethics, to health care economics and policy. Dr. Thames has over 30 years of experience in clinical medicine, undergraduate and graduate medical education, and the practice of health care administration. He served as the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Included Health from 2021-2024. Prior roles include Senior Physician and Vice President of Clinical Market Initiatives at Grand Rounds Health, Vice President of Medical Operations at Health By Design, and Program Director and Chair of the Family Medicine Residency Program at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System. He joined the faculty at Trinity full time in September 2024
