Medical Assistant
Job Description Overview:
Salveo Direct Care is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Direct Primary Care team. The Medical Assistant will work closely with our physicians to provide high-quality, personalized patient care while supporting the clinical and administrative needs of the practice. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, professional, and committed to creating an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist physicians with patient examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures.
Prepare patients for examinations, obtain medical histories, and document clinical information.
Accurately obtain and record patient vital signs.
Collect, label, and process patient specimens according to established procedures.
Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
Prepare, maintain, clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
Assist with treatments, procedures, and medication administration as directed and within applicable scope of practice.
Perform and document point-of-care testing and accurately record test results.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records and EHR documentation.
Monitor and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
Provide professional and compassionate patient communication through the patient portal and other approved channels.
Assist with answering phones, scheduling, patient inquiries, new patient enrollment, payments, and other administrative duties as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
Collaborate closely with physicians and team members to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
Participate in ongoing training and education.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Medical Assistant certification required.
Previous experience in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, or Direct Primary Care preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, examination and treatment procedures, and medical equipment and instruments.
Proficiency in taking and documenting vital signs.
Knowledge and skill in assisting with treatments, procedures, and medications as directed.
Experience collecting specimens and performing clinical testing preferred.
Strong knowledge of patient care, clinical documentation, and infection-control procedures.
Familiarity with EHR systems preferred.
Excellent communication, patient-service, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Ability to type a minimum of 50 WPM.
